ESS users can execute the "My Preferences" function to set up their own ESS user interfaces. Customizing enables you to determine which settings apply to the whole enterprise, and which settings are made by ESS users themselves.
The following can be determined for the whole enterprise: whether to display welcoming and congratulatory texts, whether to display the date and day, whether to display the inbox, and whether to display system messages.
