Purpose
The securities component enables you to manage your securities transactions and positions.
Integration
The Securities Management module is a subcomponent of Treasury Management and is closely integrated with other SAP components. Treasury Management itself is closely linked to Cash Management and Market Risk Management.
It is also closely linked to the SAP Financial Accounting component, since all the data that is relevant for posting in Securities Management is transferred to the financial accounting department.
You can maintain current market data (exchange rates, securities prices, reference interest rates, indexes...) in three ways:
Go to the Securities component by choosing Accounting ® Treasury ® Treasury Management ® Securities.

Process Flow of Master Data EntryInformation System
The information system provides a whole range of reports for analyzing your security positions and position trends. The Securities Information System is part of the Treasury Information System, which offers analyses and evaluations across the whole of the SAP Treasury dataset. These reports are useful for the information they provide about the position and flow data for the transactions you have concluded and the business partners involved in the transaction process.
The connection to the drilldown reporting tool also allows you to define reports other than the standard SAP reports that are delivered with the system.
