Discontinuation After Consumption

Purpose

In this process, a material is defined for simple discontinuation after use. Following material requirements planning (MRP), you check the planned orders. You then change the material master record and the bill of materials (BOM) for a parallel discontinuation. After the next MRP, you check the planned orders and the relevant stock levels.

Any dependent requirements for the material components that cannot be covered by the warehouse stock are transferred to the follow-up material via discontinued parts. You can define parallel discontinuations using BOMs.
