Changes to Profile View Customizing

Scope of Functions

A new tool has been developed for defining profile views. This tool enables you to define profile views for a range of components. The standard system comes with profile views for the Personnel Development and Compensation Management components. You can specify which subprofiles are displayed for each object type in each component.

In addition to the profile views for the above-mentioned components, the standard system now also comes with other new subprofiles and modified object type headers.

Effects on Existing Data

Since the new tool is based on a different table structure, customer- specific entries will not be converted automatically. Existing settings in your system are replaced by the new settings, but are not deleted.

You can use a special report to determine the difference between your old settings and the new settings. In profile view Customizing, you will then have to redefine any customer-specific settings that you also want to use in the new release.

Effects on Data Transfer

These changes do not affect master data.

Effects on System Administration
