Customers can document their own objects and they can modify or enhance documentation of SAP objects. When maintaining SAP documentation, you have the following options:

• Maintaining originals

• Creating enhancements

• You can create your own documentation independently from SAP documentation
  (Changes to SAP documentation are not effective after a release upgrade).
• You can copy SAP original documentation and change it as required.
  (Changes to SAP documentation are not effective after a release upgrade.)
• You can include SAP original documentation and add your own documentation.
  (Changes to SAP documentation remain effective after a release upgrade and customer enhancements are preserved.)

If a customer enhancement exists for documentation with the editing status active, this will be displayed by the help system. If the customer enhancement is deleted, the SAP documentation will be displayed again in its place.

Enhancements can be written in any language. They are independent of the original language of the SAP documentation. They cannot, however, be translated in the system.

You can either supplement existing SAP documentation or write your own fully independent customer documentation.
