Various elements of the interface as well as components of the ABAP/4 Development Workbench canbe documented directly in the system. This documentation can be accessed with the F1 key or by using the special menu options or function keys within a specific application. This facilitates working with the application and reduces the need to consult information on external media (such as manuals). The use of objects such as data elements or error messages is clearly described, thus enabling a better overview of the ABAP/4 Development Workbench.
The documentation is managed in a separate database and can be edited with a special maintenance transaction. Activated documents are released for translation.
The document texts are displayed in your logon language.
In addition to the online documentation on objects, online documentation on applications is also available in the form of online books that are created as hypertext (Tools
® Hypertext ® Structures or Maintain module).The following documentation explains how you can document objects in the R/3 System. First the fundamental concepts are introduced and then handling the documentation maintenance transaction is described.
