Implementation Options

This scenario describes processes available to you when implementing the FI-SL system. You can use the FI-SL system to report on values from various applications on several different levels. The modules available in the FI-SL system allow you to:

Collect information
Combine information
Create totals
Modify totals
Allocate and distribute actual and plan values

This information is transferred from other SAP applications and external systems to the FI-SL system.

Process

Planning

Enter planning data at any level of detail. In the FI-SL system, planning means the entry, distribution, and posting of planning data. Use the Report Writer to access the planning data you entered as well as to create financial budgets, prognoses, and other reports.

Actual Posting

Enter the data directly in FI-SL, go back to data entered in other SAP applications, or transfer data from external systems to your FI-SL system.

Periodic Processing

After you have entered planning and actual data in the system, you can perform the following periodic operations:

Allocation
Rollup
Currency translation
Balance carryforward
Data transfer
Archiving
