Quarterly Employment Survey

Description

On a quarterly basis, New Zealand companies are required to submit statistical details on:

• Employee numbers

• Salaries

• Annual leave entitlements

• Superannuation costs

Statistics New Zealand uses this information to calculate the Labour Cost Index which provides employers with a means to compare their costs and changes in costs with those of other companies.

In order to simplify the time-consuming task of collecting the data and calculating the statistics, SAP provides you with three reports which read the infotypes and payroll results for a selection of employees and a particular pay period. You can then use these statistics to complete the Quarterly Employment Survey.

The Quarterly Employment Survey report (HNZLQES0) calculates the following statistics for males and females:

• Number of full-time employees

• Number of part-time employees

• Ordinary pay

• Overtime pay

• Ordinary working hours

• Overtime hours

The Quarterly Labour Cost Survey on Superannuation Costs (HNZLSCS0) calculates per superannuation fund:

• Company contribution

• Number of participating full- and part-time employees

• Total number of participating employees

Effects on Customizing

You need to have maintained the wage type assignment to evaluation class 11 in Customizing under Payroll New Zealand -> Quarterly Employment Survey -> Wage Type Assignments.
