Generate Investment Program from Organizational Units

Scope of Functions

Until now, you could either create an investment program manually, or you could generate an investment program during the fiscal year change from an existing investment program.

Now you can also generate investment programs from organizational units. These organizational units have to be defined beforehand in the system. You can define your own user organizational units, and/or you can use the organizational units that already exist in the standard R/3 System (Programs -> Environment -> Tools -> Generate programm -> From org. units). The system then structures the investment program to reflect these organizational units. Based on the organizational units used, the system generates one investment program position to correspond to each hierarchy level that was specified in Customizing. The system also automatically generates the names of the position IDs.

However, your investment program is not automatically changed if you make later changes to the organizational structure.

You can still generate investment programs from an existing cost center hierarchy or profit center hierarchy (Generate program -> From profit ctr/cost ctr).

Effects on Customizing

You can make the following settings (Investment Programs -> Preparing for Production Startup -> Generate Investment Program from Organizational Units):

In a later release, you will be able to generate investment programs directly from your enterprise organizational hierarchy.
