Use
In the project system you can plan various date types, such as basic dates and forecast dates. In this process, you plan basic dates only. To do this, you copy the scheduled dates of the activities into the dates of the WBS elements.

DatesTo carry out the scheduling, you call up the planning board from the Project Builder. The project planning board provides you with an overview of the hierarchy and the sequence of your project.
It is subdivided into two areas:
You can change the size of the individual areas by dragging the separator lines.

You have
opened your project in the Project Builder and expanded it completely.Procedure
The project planning board appears. The project planning board offers you a graphical interface for the planning and monitoring of the dates of the WBS elements and activities.
The system selects all of the project objects.
The system uses the project start and finish dates as the basis for calculating and displaying the earliest and latest dates for the activities.
The system selects only the WBS elements.
The system copies the maximum dates (earliest start and latest finish) determined in scheduling for each activity and displays them as date bars in the WBS elements.
The system inserts the date bar.
Result
By planning the work required for the activities, you have also planned the dates and costs for your project. You have not assigned any activities to WBS element I/# # # # -4. You will manually plan costs for this WBS element.
