POS Interface

Purpose

The (POS) interface enables you to use Distributed Data Processing in retail stores, with store POS systems linked to a central SAP system.

Integration

The POS interface in the SAP system consists of the following areas:

This contains basic information that is relevant to all areas of POS. Information about linking POS systems using POS converters and archiving transferred IDocs is included.

Complex data (for example, price determination information) is prepared at POS interface - outbound in a format that can be handled by the recipient. This data is then transferred from the central SAP system to the store systems.

At POS interface - inbound, master data and organizational data is added to the data collected at the store POS. The data is then transferred to the central SAP system where it is processed.

The POS interface monitor provides functions for monitoring POS interface - outbound and POS interface - inbound processing.

The system can search for an administrator responsible for every error and item which requires clarification. Workflow technology is then used to trigger automatic subsequent processing so that problems can be solved quickly.
