Determining the Order Type from the Production Scheduling Profile 

Description

In the production scheduling profile you can store four order types. These four order types are intended for make-to-order production, engineer-to-order production, make-to-stock production and orders without material. You can thus define an order type for each material/ business process.

These order types are used in all Create transactions for production orders and for converting planned orders to production orders (incl. collective conversion).

The following applies:

• If an order is created and the order type is not entered explicitly, the order type is copied from the production scheduling profile (if it exists).

• An order type that you entered manually is not overwritten.

• An order type that is suggested vai SET/GET parameters is ignored.

Change system parameters in customizing

You enter the four order types in Customizing production orders by choosing Master data -> Define production scheduling profile .
