Order Change Management

Description

Engineering Change Management (ECM) allows changes to be made to various master data that all have to be changed within a change process. Future procurement elements can therefore be created with a changed product structure.

Order Change Management (OCM) extends this function to enable existing procurement elements also affected by a change to be included in the change process. OCM is triggered by changes to master data or sales orders. It is possible to adjust production orders that are already being processed to the changed product structure.

OCM can be triggered by changes in master data and sales orders. For this reason, there are two application processes in the area of OCM that take account of the different requirements for both areas:

The complete change process can only be executed for production orders and not for planned orders or purchase orders. In the case of planned orders and purchase orders it is, however, possible to determine whether they are affected by the changes.
