The Compensation Management component has undergone changes and enhancements in the following areas:
Customizing
The Compensation Management IMG has been enlarged and reorganized. For
further information, refer to the IMG itself and the Compensation Management IMG release note.
User Interface
To address usability issues, the Compensation Management area menu has been separated into:
Job Pricing
This is the process of creating salary structures based on internal and
external job evaluation results and salary survey data. This area now
provides a tool that can be used to simulate and generate salary structures based on this data.
As part of the job pricing process, the view Pay Grades and Levels has been enhanced to enable you to increase pay grades and the respective levels by either an absolute amount and/or a percentage.
Budgeting
The budgeting component has been enhanced to include the following new features:
Guidelines
Guidelines provide calculation defaults and/or restrictions for
applying compensation adjustments. The guidelines functionality has
been enhanced to allow you to define calculation rules that are based on one, two, or three employee attributes.
This matrix tool replaces the Salary Administration functionality delivered in the 3.X releases.
Administration
This area has been enhanced to include additional selection methods. In
release 4.0A, we provided the ability to select employees over the
organizational structure. In 4.5A, we have added the capability to
select employees using other selection criteria, such as, standard reports, and the HR Adhoc query tool.
