Text Symbols in the Process Instruction Assistant 

Description

The process instruction assistant supports the use of text symbols as follows:

• Existing text symbols are correctly transferred to the process instruction assistant.

Exception: Text symbols that refer to control characteristics (such as, PPPI_INPUT_REQUEST) are not supported in the process instruction assistant. Here, the reference to the characteristic may be lost.

• In short texts, you can insert text symbols with the help of the system.

You specify the characteristic to which you want to refer and the system uses the information to create the text symbol.

• In long texts, you can insert text symbols manually by entering the corresponding character string.

As the system assigns the number for process instruction characteristics only when you exit the PI assistant, you cannot refer to characteristics of the same process instruction.
