Classifying Components for Material Reconciliation

Use

Material reconciliation can only be carried out if the components used are classified with a class of class type 050 for material reconciliation.

You carry out classification by assigning characteristics to the components. You then assign values to the characteristics according to your requirements.

You can assign values to characteristics in the master recipe or in the process order. It makes sense to do this in the process order if, for example, a component is only to flow into material reconciliation for certain orders.

For more information, see Classification System.

Prerequisites

  1. You have created a class of class type 050.
  2. You have assigned characteristics for material reconciliation to the class.

Procedure

To assign values to these characteristics in the master recipe, proceed as follows:

  1. In the master recipe, choose the Materials tab page and then Goto -> Bill of material.
  2. The Change Material BOM: General Item Overview screen appears.

  3. Select the material to which you want to assign values and choose Extras ® Batch classification.
  4. The Change Material BOM: Classification screen appears. Either enter the class name or use the F4 help to call up the reconciliation class.
  5. Choose Enter and assign values to the following characteristics:

PPPI_MR_IF_USED: Relevance of component for material reconciliation: yes/ no

PPPI_MR_FORMULA: Formula for calculation

PPPI_MR_RANGE_HIGH: Upper tolerance limit to which a deviation is valid in regard to the formula used

PPPI_MR_RANGE_LOW: Lower tolerance limit to which a deviation is valid in regard to the formula used

To assign values to these characteristics in the process order, proceed as follow:

  1. Enter the process order and choose Materials.

The Change Process Order: Material List screen appears.

  1. Select the material to which you want to assign values.
  1. Use the right mouse button to choose Material reconciliation.

The Change Process Order: Classification screen appears.

If the component was already classified for reconciliation in the master recipe, the system suggests the reconciliation class and the value assignment.

  1. Under Values for class either enter the class name or use the F4 help to call up the reconciliation class. Choose Enter.
  2. Assign values to the characteristics:

PPPI_MR_IF_USED: Relevance of the component for material reconciliation: yes/ no

To change a value assignment that was made in the master recipe, choose Value assignment -> Characteristic grouping -> Display/change.
