Change Rule in the Recipe Profile

Until now, you were unable to specify the change rule for a master recipe in the recipe header before you actually created the recipe. Provided that an appropriate change number was used, this change rule could also be revoked later.

You can now ensure that a change rule is used consistently by assigning the change rule and, if required, the corresponding change type in the recipe profile. This means the following for recipe maintenance:

• The change rule assigned in the recipe profile must be considered as early as recipe creation. To enter recipe maintenance, you must thus use a change number that matches the change rule and, if required, corresponds to the change type or regulates changes even more rigidly.

• The change rule assigned in the profile is proposed in the recipe header. When you create or change a recipe, you can replace this change rule by a more rigid change rule but never by a less rigid one.

If the change rule specifies that an engineering change order must be used with a change type and you have also assigned a change type in the recipe profile, this exact change type must be used in the recipe.

• You cannot change the change rule and change type of the profile from within recipe maintenance.

Effects on Customizing

If you want to make sure that your change rules are used consistently, assign the change rules, and if required, the corresponding change types to the relevant recipe profiles in Customizing. In existing master recipes, this setting takes effect the next time you change the change rule or change type in the recipe header.
