Controlling Level (previously naming rule) can be changed

Description

Controlling levels are defined for each material in a plant (Controlling level has replaced naming rule from Release 4.5). As of Release 4.6A, you can change Controlling levels as long as there are no dependencies on Cost Object Controlling, mixed costing, or repetitive manufacturing. If you want to change a Controlling level, the system checks whether a procurement process or a procurement alternative have already been created for the existing material and Controlling level. Changing the Controlling level is prohibited if procurement processes, production processes or procurement alternatives are used in one of the following situations:

• A production order on the Controlling level to be changed is assigned to a product cost collector.

• Aproduction process on the Controlling level to be changed is attached to a cost object hierarchy. No production processes for the material and Controlling level that you want to change may be assigned to the lowest cost object node.

• A procurement alternative is used in a mixed costing.
