Standard R/3 Functions Not Supported in SAP Retail
SAP Retail does not support the functions listed below for articles. In many cases, however, you can use materials instead of articles. This procedure is particularly useful, for example, when using raw materials to manufacture merchandise. You then only create the merchandise as an article.
You cannot use variants of a generic article in variant configuration.
Special data for long-term planning cannot be maintained for articles.
Certain data required for manufacturing co-products (such as a structure for apportioning costs) cannot be maintained for articles.
Export licenses and customer tariff preferences cannot be maintained for articles.
You cannot maintain certain data for production resources for articles.
Recommendation: Use materials.
Enhancements are necessary in the article master and in the material ledger
(sales values must be updated in the material ledger, in enhancements for data structures, and in updating).
To do this, you would require extensive enhancements in the article master and in other areas.
Special processing procedure for South American countries that states that a revaluation procedure must be applied when the inflation exceeds a specified limit. Material valuation data is updated in a table for this purpose (inflation MBEW, same key as MBEW). You cannot maintain this data at present in the article master.
