Duplicate and postal check interfaces

Scope of Functions

From Release 4.6B the Central Address Management has open interfaces which can be used by third-party products.

The interfaces are implemented in Business Add-Ins such as:

• ADDRESS_CHECK - additional address data postal checks can be made by external tools. They automatically affect all applications which use the Central Address Management.

• ADDRESS_SEARCH - error-tolerant address search and duplicate check.

• ADDRESS_UPDATE - you must use this interface to update search indexes if you want to search for addresses using the business add-in ADDRESS_SEARCH. The business add-in ADDRESS_UPDATE can also be used in other contexts to react to saving address data.

The interfaces include other postal check utilities and error-tolerant duplicate search as well as the business add-ins mentioned, e.g. adjustment programs for regular postal reference data changes or modules to create external search indexes.

The error-tolerant search functions are currently active and can be used in the following master data, if an appropriate interface is implementated:

• Customer master

• Vendor master

• SAP business partner

There are additional System administration activities when an appropriate partner solution for the interfaces is connected.

There are additional Customizing activities when an appropriate partner solution for the interfaces is connected.

The implementation guide activities for the partner solution are included as (modification-free) enhancements under the component BC-SRV-ADR (Basis -> Services -> Adress management).
