Standardized Note Entry

Purpose

The standardized note entry function serves to record comments and notes on master data. It corresponds to the virtual form of self-sticking note pads in the real world that can be stuck to any document.

Implementation considerations

In the Implementation Guide you can make your own, cross-client settings affecting the following functionalities.

Number and type of languages in which notes can be maintained	To maintain the number and type of languages, in the Implementation Guide (IMG) choose: Cross-application components ® General application functions ® Notes ® Establish language for notes
Number and type of note types	To maintain the number and type of note types, go to the IMG of the respective component and define the note types per master data.

An example of a note type is a comment on a contract or general information regarding a contract.

Integration

You can use this note entry function in all areas of the master data.

Scope of functions

You can use this note entry function for the language-specific

entry of notes on master data
displaying or changing of existing notes
processing of as many notes as you want on a master data

Additionally, you can specify the languages in which notes may be stored in the system. If you have maintained more than one note type you can use the scrolling symbols to make your choice from the note types.

Restrictions

You cannot print notes on print forms in background processes.

The text itself is not protected and can be freely changed by any user. The system does not write change documents.
