Processing Drilldown Reports 

In this step, you start a Profit Center report and execute various functions available within the drilldown tool.

  1. Choose Accounting ® Enterprise controlling ® Profit center accounting.
  2. On the Profit Center Accounting screen, choose Information system ® Report selection.
  3. On the Application Tree Report Selection Profit Center Accounting screen, choose Plan/Actual Comparisons:
  4. Select Plan/Actual/Variance: Profit Center Grp, then choose Execute.

    5. If the Set Controlling Area dialog box appears, enter 1000.

  5. On the 8A-PCA001G Plan/Actual/Variance Profit Center Grp screen, enter the following data:

  6. Choose Execute.
  7. On the Execute Plan/Actual Variances Profit Center Grp: Drilldown List screen, you see the profit center report by cost elements and accounts.
  8. Choose Collapse to summarize the accounts.
  9. To analyze which profit center is responsible for the variances in the area of labor costs, you can display a drilldown list by profit center for the account group Labor Costs.
  10. In the Navigation area you see the characteristics available to you for selection and drilldown within interactive reporting. To display the characteristic attributes of the characteristic Profit Center in the drilldown list, select Profit Center in the Navigation area.

    11. Drilldown reports use the hotspot method for navigating within the report. When you select a hotspot, the system either executes a function directly or selects a field. When you select a hotspot for the first time, the system branches to the Drilldown: Call Up Documentation on Hotspots. Choose Continue.

    If the Profit Center characteristic is not currently displayed on the screen, you can scroll down the screen until you see it.

  11. Move your cursor along the line for labor costs. Note how the cursor display changes. If the cursor looks like a hand, you know there is a hotspot behind the selected object. Select the symbol to the left of the line OAS-LOEHNE Labor costs (this is a hotspot).
  12. When you choose this hotspot, the system copies the characteristic Grp. Account Number as a selection criterion into the selection area. You see a drilldown list of the characteristic attributes for the Profit Center characteristic relating to the Labor costs account group.
  13. To branch to the detail list for a given profit center, select the magnifying glass in the Navigation area.
  14. Select the symbol (hotspot) in the first column of the first row.
  15. You see a detailed list for the Labor costs account group and the selected profit center.

    16. To display the details list of a different profit center, choose the Profit Center characteristic in the navigation area.

    To do this, choose the black down arrow (hotspot) to the right of the Profit Center. This selects the detail list for the next profit center.

  16. To analyze in which period the variances occur, copy the Period characteristic from the navigation area to the selection area.

    17. To do this, select Period in the navigation area.

  17. To return to the starting list after the analysis, choose the red cross (Hotspot) in the navigation area.

    18. The system displays the original analysis report.

  18. Return to the SAP R/3 screen.

In the Exit Report dialog box, choose Yes to quit the report.

If you are requested to save the report, choose No.
