Creating Organizational Units 

Prerequisites

You can create organizational units if you want to add new organizational units to your organizational structure, and you use a root organizational unit or existing organizational structure to do so.

Procedure

  1. Choose Human resources ® Personnel management ® HR funds and position management ® Organization ® Change.
  2. The screen Organization: Initial Screen appears.

  3. Select an organizational unit, and then select the Organization view.
  4. Choose Continue.
  5. The name of the organizational unit and its validity period are displayed.

  6. Choose Organization ® Change.
  7. The Change Organization screen appears.

  8. Select the organization/organizational unit under which you want to create an organizational unit.
  9. Choose Edit ® Create ® Organizational units.
  10. The Create Organizational Units dialog box appears. The name of the organizational unit that you selected as the higher-level object is displayed at the top of this dialog box.

  11. In the Abbreviation and Name fields, enter data as required for each new organizational unit.
  12. If necessary, specify a different validity period for your organizational units.
  13. Choose Save.

By repeating steps 5 through 9, you can break down your organizational units further.
