In this IMG activity you define or change planning layouts for cost element planning.

In the standard SAP System, planning layouts are found only in client 000. To use them as models for user-defined planning layouts, they must be taken from client 000 and imported to your production client. Use the IMG "General Controlling" under the section "Prepare Production Startup -> Transport System Settings -> Transport Planning Settings -> Import Standard Planning Layouts".

After installing a new release or update, you should repeat the import of standard planning layouts from client 000 in order to access the latest layouts.

    1. Create planning layouts based on your requirements.
    2. If necessary, change an existing layout.

Note on transport

For information on transport , see the IMG activity under "Controlling: General".

The switching layout serves in cost component splitting for activity price calculation to change the cost component assignment.

In activity price calculation, cost component splitting utilizes a cost component layout, storing which cost elements are steered to which components. The layout is set using version maintenance for a fiscal year. For allocation between cost centers, this cost component layering is usually retained. There are, however, cases in which the sender components are not to be retained, but where the allocation is to other receiver components. Here is where the switching layout is used.

The layout stores which sender components are allocated to which receiver components. You determine the switching layout in activity type planning for the sender, but it must first be defined in the IMG.
