Configuring SAPphone 

Purpose

Various settings must be made in SAPphone to facilitate communication between R/3 and the telephone system.

The following components must be installed - in a central, client-server or local architecture:

SAPphone administration can be reached via the following menu paths:

Initial screen

Administration ® SAPphone ® System administration

  1. Executing Customizing
  2. From SAPphone administration, you can select Goto ® Customizing to access the Customizing function directly. You should make the following entries:

    - Defining address data areas

    - Setting the client-wide activation flag

    - Defining the number conversion rules for incoming calls

  3. If you use the Customer Interaction Center and want to use the call center function deflect: Create groups of telephone numbers for deflecting
  4. If you want to protect telephone numbers: restrict allowed extension numbers
  5. Create a telephony server
  6. Create workplaces
  7. Define the user-specific settings
  8. Test the settings

Result

Call can be initiated and received in the R/3 System. Administrators can change the server settings as well as the work center and user-specific settings. Users can change their own work center and user-specific settings. Tools are available for monitoring sending and for error analysis.
