Create external variants 

1. Go to the maintenance transaction for the test case.

2. Choose Goto ® External variants ® Export defaults.

3. You can enter a path and a name for the external variant in the to local file dialog box.

The default value is the name of the test procedure with the extension TXT.

The file path is provided by the SET/GET parameter CTP .

4. After entering the file name, choose Copy.

The system downloads the data to the specified file.

5. Start a table calculation program and import the data. The columns are separated by tabs.

The data format for importing data must be Text, otherwise leading zeros may be lost.
  1. Create new data records.
  2. Save these data records in a text file.

You can run external variants by specifying the path and file name in the CATT initial screen.
