External variants allow you to create variants for the test case import parameters in a table calculation program such as Microsoft EXCEL. You can create and run up to 99,999 data records.

The data file of the external variant is a text file, whose individual elements are separated by tabs.

The first line in the file contains the parameter names without leading &. The second line contains short texts. The third line contains the the default parameter values. Starting in the fourth line, you can enter your own values.
