Definition
A service charge key specifies the type of service charges incurred.
You can freely define service charge keys in Real Estate Customizing.

Examples of service charge keys:
- 600 Elevator
- 800 Street-cleaning and garbage removal
- 900 House cleaning
- 1000 Garden maintenance
- 1240 Water consumption
- 6001 Fuel

Structure
The attributes of a service charge key determine
- the tenancy law for which it applies.
- the service charge group to which it belongs (operating costs/heating expenses/general costs).
- whether or not it is apportionable to the tenant.
- whether it is exclusively apportionable to commercial tenants.
- the condition type (advance payment or flat rate) with which you clear the costs
Clearing with advance payments can be controlled via the assignment to an individual condition type or to a service charge group.
Integration
You create an apportionable service charge key per
settlement unit.Advance payments are defined as a condition type on the rental agreement. You can assign more than one condition type of advance payment to a service charge key taking the following restrictions into account (
Example: Settlement of Individual Service Charge Key).
