Using the Clipboards 

The ABAP Editor has a standard buffer and three additional clipboards. You can also use your system clipboard to copy information between two programs in different SAP systems. The following explains the relationships among the buffer and the clipboards:

Copy to buffer

Insert from buffer

Copy and insert within a single Editor session in the same system. When you leave the Editor, the system deletes the buffer contents.

Copy and insert between SAP sessions in the same system. The Editor makes the contents of these clipboards available to all of your SAP sessions within the same system.

Copy and insert between two SAP systems. For example, you can copy information from a production system into a development system. These options use your system clipboard.

To copy code to a clipboard, select the code and choose Block/clipboard and a destination clipboard. To insert source code from a clipboard, place your cursor on a line and choose Block/clipboard ® Insert clipboard and a source clipboard. The system inserts the code before the current line.
