Editing, Deleting, Copying within Object Lists

You can edit the objects listed in the Repository Browser. To do so, use the functions in the menus and the application toolbar.

Editing Objects

There are two ways of editing an object:

Select the object and choose Change.
The system opens the object in change mode.

Double-click the object The system opens the object in display mode. To edit the object, choose Display « Change.

Deleting Objects

To delete an object, select the object and choose Delete. The R/3 system does not allow you to delete an object referenced by other objects.

For example, you cannot delete an include program if another program is using it. If you try to delete an object that is still in use, the system tells you to delete the associated object first.

Copying Objects

When creating new objects, you can copy existing objects (or sub-objects). You cannot copy a folder. To copy a single object:

Place the cursor on the required object
Choose Copy.

The system asks you to rename the target object.

Enter a name for the new object.
Choose Copy.

If the object has sub-components, the system prompts you for a copy of each subobject.

Select the components you want to copy and choose Copy.

The system creates the new object.

To copy several objects, select them as a group and choose Copy. The system asks you to confirm that you want to copy each object.
