Repository Browser

The Repository Browser is the central tool for organizing and managing your development work. ( Reassigning objects to another development class). Its user interface resembles that of a file manager. These object lists contain every element belonging to a particular development class, program, or function group.

Working with object lists helps you keep track of development objects without losing sight of the overall context. The root node of every object list is always a development class. From the development class, you can traverse down to the lowest level of objects in the R/3 system.

From a development class list, you can use the Repository Browser to navigate to the following types of list:

Program

Lists all of a program's components

Function Group

Lists all function modules and their components.

Local Private Objects

Lists all local private objects. All users have their own local private object list.

There are two group boxes on the initial screen: One for Object list and one for Single Object. To display an object list:

  1. Select an object-list type from the Object list group box.
  2. Enter the name of a list
  3. Choose Display.

The system displays the list you requested.

To display single objects without having to call up an object list, select one of the options in the Single Object group box, and choose Edit. The system then displays a selection screen. Enter the name of the object you want to display.

Local Private Object List

Each user in the SAP system has a local private object list. The objects in this list belong to development class $TMP. As well as your own local private objects, you can also display those belonging to other users. Most users reserve their local private object list for test objects.
