Adding Append Structures 

Procedure

  1. Choose Goto ® Append structures.
  2. A list of all the append structures that have already been created for the table appears.

  3. Choose New append.
  4. A dialog box appears in which you must choose a name for the append structure. The name must lie in the customer namespace.

  5. Choose Continue.
  6. You go to the field maintenance screen of the append structure.

  7. Enter a Short description for the append structure.
  8. You must now define which fields should be added to the table by the append structure.

  9. Enter the fields of the append structure in the field list. You can use all the existing functions for the field maintenance of tables and structures (see Creating Fields of Tables).
  10. Select the field names of an append structure from the customer namespace for fields. Customer fields should begin with YY or ZZ. This prevents conflicts with fields inserted in the table by SAP.

  11. Save and activate the append structure.

You can display information about the activation process with Utilities ® Activation log. Errors occurring when the append structure is activated are displayed directly in the activation log.

Result

The table is also activated when the append structure is activated. The fields of the append structure are added to the table in the database.
