Prerequisites
A table can only be activated when its technical settings have been created.
Procedure
Choose Table
® Activate in the field maintenance screen of the table.The including table is also adjusted and activated when an included table is activated.
If you find at activation that no technical settings have yet been defined for the table, go directly to the corresponding maintenance screen (see
Maintaining Technical Settings). Define the technical settings there, choose Save and then leave the maintenance screen with Back. The table is now activated.Result
Information on the activation process can be found in the activation log. You can display the activation log with Utilities
® Activation log. The activation log is displayed automatically if errors occur when the table is activated.When a transparent table is activated, the table and all the indexes on the table are automatically created in the database (if not explicitly excluded when the index was defined). You can display the definition of the table in the database with Extras
® Database object ® Display.If there are structure changes to existing tables requiring a table conversion, a dialog box will appear in which you can choose the processing type. The table is activated during the conversion.

The technical settings for a table are a separate object and can be activated and transported separately from the table.
