Replenishment Strategies

Use

KANBAN replenishment is controlled by various different replenishment strategies. The replenishment strategies determine in which way the kanban quantity is produced or obtained, in other words whether a replenishment element (or which replenishment element) is created by the system.

The replenishment strategy, which is defined in Customizing for KANBAN and which is assigned to a material in the control cycle, controls whether procurement is to take place using in-house production or external procurement or whether stock is to be transferred between storage locations.

You can choose between the following:

Features

Replenishment Strategies for In-house Production

Here, you produce the kanban quantity your self, to supply your own production.

Replenishment Strategies for External Procurement

Here, you obtain the kanban quantity using an order or a scheduling agreement from a vendor, for example.

Replenishment Strategies for Stock Transfer

Here, you transfer the kanban quantity to supply your own production.
