NUMCPUVPS (Informix) 

This parameter determines how many CPU virtual processors are started when the database is started. To determine how to set this parameter, you need to take account of a range of factors. However, the following basic rule applies:

NUMCPUVPS 1

Set NUMCPUVPS to a value less than or equal to the number of physical CPUs on your system. See below for where to find more information on this.
