Informix 

In an Informix R/3 System, the following screen is displayed. The alert thresholds below pertain to 3 different monitors(Alert, Lock and Log & Archive Monitor).

To start the Informix Database Monitor:

In the R/3 main menu choose Tools ® CCMS ® Configuration ® Alert Thresholds ® Database.

You can set the following values:

Refresh Alert Monitor In 10 sec Interval

Time interval the database alert monitor will do a refresh on the screen in. The database monitor will for example refresh the monitor every 10 seconds, if the value is 1.

Read Quality %

Percentage of the number of reads from the buffer over the total number of reads, both from buffer and from disk.

Write Quality %

Percentage of the number of writes to the buffer over the total number of writes, both from buffer and from disk.

Read

Total number of reads, both from disk and from data buffer.

Write

Total number of writes, both to disk and to data buffer.

Disk Reads

Total number of reads from disk.

Sequential Scans

Total number of sequential scans that Informix performed since the database startup.

Rollbacks

Total number of rollbacks that Informix performed since the database startup.

Long Waits (ms)

If the number of long waits since database startup exceed this value, an alert will be triggered.

Logical Log Used %

If the percentage of the logical log used since database startup exceeds this figure, an alert will be triggered.

Locks Used %

Alert will be triggered if at any time the percentage of the locks used since database startup exceeds this figure.

Locked Time(s)

If a thread holds a lock for more than the time specified here, an alert will be generated in the lock monitor.

Waiting for Lock(s)

If a thread waits for a lock for more than the time specified here, an alert will be triggered in the alert monitor.

Last Check (days)

The number of days since the last time the table update statistics have been checked.

Last Run (days)

The number of days since the last time the table update statistics have been performed.

Remaining Log Space (KB)

If the remaining log space available is less than this figure, an alert will be triggered.

Most Recent Archive Age Allowed (in days)

If the most recent archive is older than the value specified here, an alert will be generated in transaction DB12.

Start Auto Log Save When Over % Filled

If the log filled % is over this figure here, a process for backing up the logfile will automatically be started.

To set up and control the lock waits:

In the R/3 main menu choose Tools ® CCMS ® Control ® Performance Menu ® Database System ® Exclusive Lockwaits.
