Checking, Saving and Activating Profiles 

Purpose

Once you have finished maintaining a profile, you can check it for errors or inconsistencies, save it in the database and then activate it. This ensures that any changes are activated when the corresponding SAP instance is started. The profile data is checked automatically before leaving either the Basic or Extended maintenance screens. The system then displays any errors or inconsistencies.

Process Flow

Choose Profile ® Save. The system executes the following:

Profiles can also be checked explicitly as follows:

Single profiles:

Enter the name and version of the profile you want to check in the profile maintenance main screen. Then choose Profile ® Check.

All profiles for the active server:

Choose Utilities ® Check all profiles ® the active server.

All profiles used in operation modes:

Choose Utilities ® Check all profiles ® in operation modes.

You activate the most recent profile as follows:

  1. Enter the name of the profile you want to activate in the profile maintenance main screen. Use the possible entries pushbutton to display the available profiles.
  2. Choose Profile ® Activate.
  3. Copy this profile into a new profile and then activate it.
