Changing and Switching Profile Parameters 
Procedures
You can maintain the R/3 profile parameters as follows:
- To change the name of the file where the profile should be activated, choose Administration data. If R/3 System profiles are imported automatically, the administration data is also created automatically.
- Maintain the most important profile parameters using the Basic maintenance interface.
- Maintain all parameters in a profile by choosing Extended maintenance.
- Create, change or delete parameter entries by choosing Extended maintenance.
- Create or change parameter values using an edit window.
You can switch between Basic and Extended maintenance at any time. Changes to profiles are adopted when you choose Profile
®
Save in database.You can subsequently change and switch the R/3 profile parameters for instance profiles without restarting the system.
To change and switch the profile parameters
- Enter the profile name in the input field.
- On the profile maintenance main screen, choose Profile
®
Dyn. switching
®
Display parameters.
The system displays a list of memory management parameters that can be switched.
- Change the relevant profile parameters using basic maintenance (as described above) and save them.
- On the profile maintenance main screen, choose Profile
®
Dyn. switching
®
Execute.
- From the list of active application servers, choose an application server and confirm.
The profile is used immediately after the change; you do not have to restart the system. At the end, the system displays a log for parameter switching.
