Creating and Copying Individual Profiles 

Procedure

To create a new profile manually:

  1. Set all relevant parameters and their values using Basic or Extended maintenance.

    2. It is best to start in Basic maintenance as this is where the parameters and their active values in the reference server have been allocated.

  2. Choose Profile ® Create.
  3. Enter the administration data ( ® Adopt) and then maintain the parameter values. Choose Maintain.

To copy an existing profile:

  1. Adjust the parameter values.
  2. Make sure the servers for the source profile and the new profile have similar configurations.
  3. Align the host's operating system platforms on which the servers are running. This is important for several reasons, including for the file names.
  4. Choose Profile ® Copy.

 

You must also enter any new instance profile into the SAP instance start profile where the instance profiles are to be activated.
