Creating an Account 

The costs incurred by one or more users are invoiced to an account. An account is for an individual user or a work group. For example, an account can be a cost center.

To create an account

  1. From the main R/3 menu, select Tools ® Administration ® Maintain users ® Users
  2. The Maintain Users: Initial Screen is displayed.

  3. Specify a user name, then choose Create/change.
  4. Specify the account in the field Account number.

For example, the account can be a cost center. The account is stored in the table USR02 , field ACCNT .

Normally the current user master record is used to assign users to accounts. You can set other assignments using a function module parameter.

Users who do not have an account defined in their own or the specified user master record are cumulated under the artificial account " No account ". Users not included in the specified user master record will be cumulated under the artificial user account " Unknown user ".

Pre-defined R/3 System users, such as sapsys , sap* or sapr3 , which are not included in the specified user master record, are cumulated under an account with the same name. For example, user sapsys will be cumulated under the "account" sapsys .
