Removal of Function Module UNIT_CONVERSION 

Description

The function module UNIT_CONVERSION is no longer maintained by SAP as of Release 3.0A. This function module has a very broad interface which is difficult to operate. In addition, the interface was only ever used in parts.

As of now, several smaller function modules, which completely cover the functionality of UNIT_CONVERSION, are provided as a replacement.

The most important function modules are the following:

• UNIT_CONVERSION_SIMPLE

Conversion of quantities within one dimension (for example, from meters to kilometers or from kilos to grams); if required, there is also rounding of the result

• UNIT_CONVERSION_WITH_FACTOR

Conversion with predefined factor

• CONVERSION_FACTOR_GET

Specification of the conversion factor for converting quantities within one dimension

• MATERIAL_UNIT_CONVERSION

Conversion of quantities dependent on the material (for example, from stockkeeping unit to base unit of measure for a certain material)

The new function modules have the following advantages:

• better performance

• narrower interfaces

• simple operation as a result
