Planned Working Time Infotype (0007)

Definition

Generally, planned working time is understood to be the inclusive time from the start to end of the daily workday, without breaks. In other words, planned working time determines how long employees have to perform their work each day.

In R/3 Time Management, the definition of planned working time is dependent upon work schedules built around precisely defined times. These time specifications are the foundation upon which business processes are based in your enterprise.

One of the Elements of the Work Schedules is the Daily Work Schedule, in which you specify the daily working time of your employees according to your business requirements.

Use

You can define planned working time for your employees by assigning Work Schedule Rules to them in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007). In this infotype, you enter the time data required to define working time for one or more employees.

The assignment of the Work Schedule Rule determines the Personal Work Schedule containing the planned working time for each employee. This planned working time is individually modifiable in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007).

By using the Planned Working Time infotype (0007), you can easily set up static and dynamic business situations that occur in your enterprise with minimal processing effort. In this way, you obtain a high level of flexibility when setting up your employee-oriented planned working times. Every change in the planned working time in your enterprise has a direct influence on time evaluation as well as payroll accounting functions.

The Planned Working Time infotype (0007) assists you in the following areas:

The following definition criteria is available:

Here you define planned working time (regardless of employee) in the form of a sequence of daily work schedules. This is the work schedule that is normally assigned to the employee.

If you calculate employee time data using R/3 Time Evaluation, you must activate the Time Management status for all employees. Otherwise, the employees are not included in the calculation.

Here you can enter a percentage rate for which the employee is assigned to the normal work schedule rule.

The R/3 System automatically calculates these entries according to the selected work schedule rule and its assignment percentage rate to the employee and to the entry in the Weekly workdays field.

Here you enter how many workdays in one working week. This entry is used in planning information and can be accessed for evaluations. However, it does not automatically influence planned working time.

When you activate this function, then you can define the start and end times in the corresponding fields. These start and end times overwrite the times in the employee’s normal daily work schedule and serve as the basis for time evaluation and payroll accounting.

Functions for Part-Time Employees

In this Planned Working Time infotype (0007), you can also create special regulations for your part-time employees based on existing work schedule rules for full-time employees. In this way, you do not have to create brand new work schedules for your part-time workforce.

The Dynamic Daily Work Schedule function allows you to create flexible daily work schedule rules for part-time workers. This function automatically calculates the entered employment percentage from the daily work schedule. You can also enter minimum and maximum working hours for your employees.

You have assigned the work schedule rule to a full-time employee that stipulates that he or she has a daily planned working time from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For personal reasons, the employee will work part-time for a period of two-and-a-half years; you will pay him or her non-scale wages. Set up this scenario in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007) as follows:

Assign the status "part-time" to this employee.

Define the part-time work as 75% of the normal planned working time in the work schedule rule for flextime.

Specify the least and greatest number of hours the employee is allowed to work per day, per week and per year.

Additional Notes

You can also set up this infotype to include an Additional Time ID for Time Management field. This indicator is a special customer-specific ID that can be individually defined in R/3 Payroll Accounting. This ID is not used in the standard SAP System.

In this infotype, you can also determine on which day of the week and at which time the work week begins. Furthermore, you can specify how long a work week lasts, that is, 7 or 14 days.

You can also determine the view for calculating weekly overtime. Any hours worked over the planned working time are evaluated as overtime.
