Entering Leave Using the Absences Infotype (2001)
Use
Special absence types with quota deduction are those that are related to leave. These absences are deducted from a particular quota and can be entered in two different infotypes:
· A standard annual leave, for example, reduces the quota stored for an employee in the Leave Entitlement infotype (0005).

· Leave
· Educational leave
· Leave quotas that are accumulated by fulfilling certain work requirements are deducted from the Absence Quotas infotype (2006).
An absence for leave is deducted from a specific quota, depending on the absence type and settings you made in the Customizing steps in the Implementation Guide (IMG).
You can also control quota deduction manually (see below).

Procedure
Depending on the settings made in Customizing, the system issues either a warning or error message if the "from" or "to" date of the record falls on an employee’s day off.
The system automatically calculates the values of all essential screen fields. If an employee does not have enough absence quota to enter a leave, the system displays an error message.

Integration with R/3 Controlling.Manual Control of Quota Deduction
Deducting leave from quotas can also be performed manually. You can define whether the current leave record should be deducted, for example, from standard annual leave or from the leave quota for a move.

Whether or not you can make any changes using this function depends on the settings made in Customizing.
Procedure
A list appears displaying the quota for which the current leave record is to be deducted.
The system checks your entries for plausibility. Make any corrections necessary, then choose Enter again.
Result
The deduction of leave quota is now changed.
