Payroll Journal 

Purpose

The R/3 System enables you to create a payroll account for your employees. Payroll journals consist of detailed, selected payroll data for several employees.

Implementation Considerations

You use the Implementation Guide (IMG) to create the payroll journal as you require. The IMG contains the following forms for each payroll journal:

Page header form

Payroll excerpts form

Continuation excerpts form

Totals display form

Payroll journal form

In the IMG, you specify which payroll data is evaluated in the page header, payroll excerpts, continuation excerpts and totals page.

Scope of Functions

The payroll journal displays a view of selected payroll results. These are payroll results that have been created in a particular time interval or selected payroll period. You can set parameters when the payroll journal is created:

To do this, use the Date identifier field.

To do this, use the Payroll type and Payroll identifier fields.

To do this, flag the Print retroactive runs field and choose Format retroactive accounting.

To do this, flag the Print totals page only field.

To do this, use the Print retroactive accounting runs and Format retroactive accounting functions.

Payroll journal functions for the countries that use the old version of the payroll journal:

To do this, choose Delimit.

To do this, use the Alternative currency field.

Restrictions

You cannot use the payroll journal as a base for reconciliation with the Financial Accounting and Controlling application components.
