Creating a Material Cost Estimate Without Quantity Structure 

Prerequisites

Accounting and costing views exist in the material master record for the material that you want to cost. For more information, see Material Master Records in Costing.

Procedure

  1. Choose Accounting ® Controlling ® Product Cost Planning ® Material Costing ® Cost Estimate Without Quantity Structure ® Create.
  2. This brings you to: Material Cost Estimate W/o Qty Struct: Initial Screen.

  3. Enter the following data:

- Costing variant (see also Costing Sequence)

- Material

- Plant

  1. You can also enter the following data (otherwise, default values are used or the entry values are determined automatically):

- Costing lot size

- Costing version (see Working with costing versions)

- Costing date from/to

  1. Choose Enter.
  2. The dialog box Control Data appears.

  3. Check the proposed control parameters in the dialog box. (See Date Control and Transfer Control)
  4. Choose Enter.
  5. This brings you to Create Unit Cost Estimate: list screen

  6. Enter the costing items. You can use the detail screen for this.
  7. If necessary, check the detail screen for each item.
  8. Process the header.
  9. Save the cost estimate.

If the costing variant contains a costing sheet, then overhead or process costs are calculated automatically. See also: Overhead and Process Costs

Result

If you created a standard cost estimate, you can transfer the marked results into the material master record as the future standard price and the released results as the current standard price.

If you created a inventory cost estimate, you can transfer the results into the material master record as the tax-based or commercial price.

If you created a standard cost estimate, inventory cost estimate, modified standard cost estimate, or a current cost estimate, you can transfer the results into the material master record as the planned prices.
