SAPoffice: Excluding Certain Document Categories (Administration Function)
Description
You can exclude certain document categories from processing.
You have the following options in this case:
- you can generally forbid the document category
Effect:
Documents of a forbidden type must not reach the system (neither by creating, uploading, nor by external receiving of messages).
- you can only allow processing by download
Effect:
Documents of a type, which can only be processed by download,
cannot be displayed or modified in the corresponding editor. Instead, a message informs you that processing is only possible by
download.
This has the following uses:
- You can use this option to prevent, for example, EXE files via SAPoffice reaching your R/3 System.
Do not forget to also forbid BIN type files since this file type can also contain EXE files.
- You can only offer runtime-intensive document categories (that is,
document categories with on average very large files) via download. This prevents users starting a lengthy display by inadvertently
double-clicking.
System administration changes
You exclude document categories in the following way:
1. Choose System -> Services -> Table maintenance.
2. Enter tsope.
3. Choose Table -> Maintain.
4. Enter the required document categories.
The table is client-specific, that is, you can decide what is forbidden and what is allowed for each client.
