Shift Group (Infotype 1039)
Definition
The Shift Group infotype (1039) is only used for organizational units and is required if you want to implement the R/3 Shift Planning component.
This infotype enables you to assign a shift group to an organizational unit.
A shift group consists of a collection of separate shifts. For example, a shift group could contain the following three shifts:
Shift Description |
Working Hours |
Early shift |
6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. |
Afternoon shift |
2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. |
Night shift |
10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. |
Shift groups are user-defined, that is, the content of a shift group — the number of shifts and the working hours — varies from shift group to shift group. The shift groups themselves are defined in the R/3 Shift Planning component.
Use
By assigning a shift group to an organizational unit, you determine the shifts to be worked in a specific organizational unit. Any characteristics of a shift group, such as the requirements type, are also attributed to the organizational units.
The system uses this information to check if the shift groups created contain:
for each organizational unit.
An organizational unit can only be assigned to one shift group. A specific shift group, however, can be assigned to several different organizational units.
Assigning shift groups is carried out in the R/3 Shift Planning component.
