Creating an Attachment for a Document 

Procedure

  1. Select an existing SAP editor document or SAPscript document or create a new document.
  2. Select Document ® Create ® Attachment You can configure various options for the attachment:

® New

® Import

® Import from spool

® Link to business object

® Link to Web page

If attachments already exist for a document, you can call a dialog box containing various functions which lists the existing attachments by selecting Goto ® Attachment list:

Copy

The attachment is copied to the specified target folder as a document.

The attachment is appended to a document as an attachment. If you select this option, you must call the Target folder function after the Copy function, and then the Document selection function. Documents which have not been sent are displayed for selection.

Move

The attachment is moved to the specified target folder as a document. The attachment is no longer appended to the original document.

The attachment is appended to a document as an attachment and removed from the original document. If you select this option, you must work with the Document selection function after calling the Move function.

Creating a Link

The attachment links to a document in the specified target folder. Changes in the attachment are also valid for the link and vice versa.

The attachment is appended to a document as a link. Changes in the attachment are also valid for the link and vice versa. If you select this option, you must work with the Document selection function after selecting Create link.

  1. If you create a new attachment, specify the type, change the name (if required) and assign a title.
    The fields for sensitivity and features correspond to the settings in the document for which the attachment is being created and cannot be overwritten.

The following options are available:

- Define an existing PC document as an attachment
Choose Import and then the document name.

- Create a new document
Confirm the choice and then create the attachment using the relevant editor.

If you wish to define an existing SAPoffice document as an attachment, leave the Type and Title fields empty and select Find link.

The attachment is created.
