You can create any number of PC documents, provided the corresponding software is installed on your system and there is a valid entry for these programs in the PC registry. If you are working with Windows 3.1 or Windows 95, maintaining the file win.ini is sufficient.
Whenever you create (or change) PC documents, you should note the following: We will use the inclusion of a PC document in SAPoffice to illustrate the example.
- If there are no default documents defined for documents of the selected type, the file is empty.
- If one default document exists for documents of the selected type, the file contains the default document.
- If several default documents exist for documents of the selected type, the file contains the default document selected by the user.
The file always has the name ~SAPFIL<NUMBER>.<EXT>, where <EXT> is replaced by the file extension of the respective PC application (for example, ~SAPFIL<NUMBER>.DOC for a WinWord document). If PC documents are created in several sessions, the <NUMBER> value is incremented. If you make a change, the file ~SAPFIL<NUMBER>.<EXT> is generated. The file is exported to your work directory. These work files are deleted automatically.

You can determine the work directory via the R/3 icon in your Program Manager: Select File
Since file transmission always takes place with the file ~SAPFIL<NUMBER>.<EXT>, the following rules should be noted:
