Configuring a Folder

Use

Folder configurations can be used to specify which information about the folder contents is required and how this information is displayed.

An initial configuration is defined for each folder. This is used to determine how the folder is displayed when called for the first time. The following configurations can be defined as initial configurations by users:

The initial configuration supplied by SAP can only be changed by the administrator. The other supplied configurations can be changed by users.

Columns

You can specify how many columns are to be displayed, in which order, and which attributes apply to which column.

The column formatting can also be maintained, i.e. column width or display with icons.

"Viewed" flag, document title, author, creation date, change date

Sorting

You can use sort criteria to specify the order in which entries should be displayed.

You can also sort the entries directly in the folder. To do this, choose a column heading and select Edit ® Sort ascending or Sort descending.

Unread documents should appear in the list before documents which have been read. Within the two categories, the send date should be used as the sort criteria.

Filters

You can use filters to limit the number of entries displayed in one folder.

For example, you could specify that only unread documents which are still to be processed or which require an answer should be displayed.

User-defined pushbuttons

When accessing your inbox, you first see an initial screen displaying the various folder configurations in button form. This screen can be modified and your own pushbuttons added.

When you click on one of the pushbuttons, either:

  • the inbox list is displayed directly, or
  • a hierarchy tree is displayed, from where you can access the inbox list. This is the case when a grouping is to be maintained for this configuration.

Unread express messages

Activities

When users access a folder, the folders contents are displayed in the initial configuration.

If you require a different view, select Configuration ® Change, and choose a different configuration.
